Namaste Yogis and Yoginis!
It is a beautiful time of year to be living in Brisbane. I love practicing yoga in the hall with everyone and having the pleasure of listening to the birds (and at times rain on the roof!). I wanted to share with everyone a few things that are happening in our Laughing Lotus Yoga community.
The Friday 10am beginners class that has been running will now be a new scheduled class designed for Parents and Toddlers. In this class parents will be be able to practice yoga with their child in a fun atmosphere, whilst introducing asanas, pranayama and mindfulness to the children. Classes will go for an hour. If you are coming along, please bring a quiet stuffed toy with you to the class.
I wanted to thank Sheryn, Annette, Yuri and Kellie for doing such a wonderful job in the classes that they have taught during the course of the year so far. Each of these lovely Yogis bring their own personal style and beautiful engergy to the classes that they take. I am greatly appreciative to have them teach at Laughing Lotus Yoga. Thank you.
On the 14th September, 6:30-8:00pm there will be a masterclass in Parter Yoga. Yuri and Lisa will be taking 6 couples through a series of asanas that couples/ very good friends can do together. Partner Yoga is a beautiful form of yoga where you can go into asanas deeply, and are able to create incredible energy between you as a couple. It is fun (remember it is 'laughing' lotus yoga), and partners who haven't done yoga before will be welcome to attend. This class will be either $30 for each couple, or 3 'stamps' per couple. Please register your interest with Lisa.
On the 21st of September 7:30pm, why don't you come out to dinner for an Indian feast with your fellow yogis? Lisa is taking names for bookings at the Mughal Palace, 1407 Logan rd Mt Gravatt. For$25 a head, you can enjoy a set banquet. Drinks are extra. It will be a great opportunity to build and deepen friendships in our yoga community.
Bolsters for sale! :
There are limited green bolsters for sale at $45 each. Bolster pillows are delicious when practicing restorative or yin yoga. Get in quickly if you are interested. Please contact Lisa for details.
Early morning classes:
If you like practicing yoga first thing in the morning then this Thursday 5:30am class is for you! Greet the new day in with Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) followd by various Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation with the chorus of the local kookaburras.. beautiful! Class passes or casual payment are welcome for this class as with each of the other classes. Our timetable is available on the website also. Please note that as the mornings are still brisk, the front door is open (kept ajar) to keep the warmer air inside the hall.
It is a pleasure to practice yoga with you all.
Go in peace.
